The Impala was Chevrolet’s top of the line model in 1959. No longer the trim option package it had been on the Bel Air model in 1958, it was offered in a full range of body styles including the four-door Nomad station wagon. Distinguished by the most extravagant fins ever seen on a Chevrolet, the 1959 Impala is one of Chevrolet’s most dramatic and distinctive designs. The combination of the thin vee-shaped nearly horizontal rear fins, side trim with painted center panels and simulated air intakes above the grille is much more restrained than the chrome orgy that burdened other GM brands in 1959. The 1959 Impala’s blend of extravagant body contours highlighted by thin chrome accents displays its design with style and balance.

This Roman Red 1959 Impala convertible was restored in the late 1990’s and has since been stored in a climate-controlled environment and used for shows and events regularly. The sparkling exterior is complemented by a matching red interior and excellent white convertible top. It is powered by the smooth-running 280 horsepower hydraulic valve lifter 348 cubic inch engine with three two-barrel carbs and dual exhaust. It has a Powerglide automatic transmission, dual rear antennas, power steering and power brakes.
